Spots weekend out

Spot chilling with KitKat

Spot protesting in Raleigh, NC.
Spot was a hit, he spoke with two fellow angered citizens and had his picture taken.

Spot jumped on the pile to make sure his voice was heard.

Spot in the court yard of chapel hill about to dig in to some indian food.
Side note: http://www.curryblossom.com/
For a tasty meal go to Vimala's, she is tucked away off the road, there is a sign on franklin telling you where to go! Spot enjoyed the uttapam bread which is gluten free. They cater well to meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans with love.

Dear friends,

I am currently taking Acting1 at CCCC here in the lovely Pittsboro, NC.

Our class has a mascot, I know you're jealous, go ahead and get one too!
Ours in named Spot!

This past weekend 10/14-10/18 was my turn to take him home.
I decided to document his goings.

Tibetan Monks in Chapel Hill 2011

Several monks on a US tour made a stop in Chapel hill, NC.
The monks travel for over a year.
Before they can start their journey they present their plans to the Dalia Llama.

Here they are building a mandala (sand painting)
Mandalas are a meditation that shows how temporary we are.
After the intricate mandala is finished, a portion is bagged up for people in the audience, a portion taken to the closest water source and poured in. (they follow the legal amount)

One day without shoes

Toms event in Chapel Hill, NC.
YMCA 2011

The music blared, the crowd marched on, straight to the police station in Chapel hill.
Brought to us by Toms, a one for one company that gives children in need a pair for every pair you buy.
Hosted by the Chapel Hill YMCA.

People came out of their houses as we marched down Martin Luther King Blvd.
Kids screamed and rolled down the hills at the police station.
Youth and adult alike flung their bare feet in the air for a message, one message.
Awareness.

Toms not only gives a child a pair of shoes, they also make sure they are suited for the environment the child is in.
