Tonight we make history.

Doctor Who is the longest running ScFi show. It went off air for a bit and made a comeback in 2005. We are now in season 6 of the revamp. However, this is a british show, but tonight we change that! It airs at 9pm on our very own BBCA; As well as being filmed partly in the US.

Enjoy.

Apple Asiago Pie

Blueberry Meyer Lemon Mini Pie

ENJOY.

Uncooked teaser...

It all started with a desire for apple pie...

Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving has different meanings for everyone, I simply enjoy the spirit of the holiday season.
Weather you are celebrating in this fashion, another, or its not that time of year; I feel that when people join together in harmony good things come of it. So I keep the love alive in my own way.

This is not my turkey day, I am a vegetarian. I am grateful for the bountiful earth and the gifts it gives me. I am grateful I am here to experience it.

Handmade apple asiago pie.

I had dough left over from the apple pie and decided to make a small blueberry, meyer lemon pie. These are the uncooked teaser images, I am excited to see them done.
Which will be an hour from now!

Traveling

As I was traveling through a few states on a 19 hour bus ride, I fell into a few ideas. Musings from the road. I am still in the process of personal work and hope to post images soon.

I just want to say that inspiration, for me, comes as strange times, any time, and I am thankful.

I feel I am building concepts to be recreated at some point down the road when I have the resources.

Pickin' on Modest Mouse

I am sitting here in the beautiful Sarasota, FL. Daydreaming. The trees are billowing from side to side.

I have two projects in the works,

The first is a research project, I will be delving in to the refraction of light and studying the diffuse highlight to see the effects.

The second is a short film, postal service style. I am hoping to call upon peoples talents continentally.

Hope everyone is enjoying these wonderful days no matter where you are.

Infrared with Eli

Nikon 8008s, 80-200mm
Kodak Infrared film

This project involved a lot of guess work.
I had a few rolls of infrared laying around and it would have pained me to waste them. I decided to do portraits and see where the tones fell. I enjoyed the overall softness and the placement of grain. The first roll I did came back a bit to contrasty so I adjusted my Processing time.  I used D-76 for 7mins, stop for 1, and fix for 5+ because I am paranoid :)
Anyway, I enjoyed the outcome.

Smoke and mirrors pt2

This is a work in progress, I would like to develop more in a series of smoke and mirrors.
To keep the balance though this is the light one, enjoy.

More with April

I recently lost access to Photoshop, SO I am now exploring the editing tools of Lightroom 2.
I enjoy seeing where I can take images.

I stumbled upon this image whilst exploring photoshop today and I LOVE it.
I added a gradient and switched the blending mode to hard light. I then added an image to the shades to add texture and put that blending mode on screen. enjoy.

look at old things in a new way

This image is from a school project back in 2009. I love how it is split horizontally. I am going back through my catalog and finding old passed over images that I have a new love for. Our lives are constantly changing so instead of showing anything new I decided to bring back everything I already have, to ensure im not taking anything for granted. enjoy.

OHIO

Enough said.

OHIO

My recent trip to Ohio involved an adventure in food as well.
This is called a Haystack, Everyone in the room was shocked that I had not had one before. I wont be forgetting them any time soon. They are quite simple, you start with fritos (personally id find a healthier alternative) then a layer of veggie chili, beyond that you add what like from lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, peppers, onions and so forth. I was told specifically to place in said order and then to eat it all together in one pile.  YUM.

This was the amazing wedding food.
That is cold peach soup ladies and gentlemen, I suggest making it soon too.
As for everything else on the plate I couldnt give you specific names.

OHIO

This past week I traveled to Ohio for a friends wedding. This is an HDR image from the building, Moraine Farm.

Inspired Sunset

I have been experimenting lately with the basic filters in Photoshop. This is a Florida Sunset with a Graphic Pen filter on it. Normally it would have turned the colors to grey scale. Durning that process I had an inspired idea to duplicate the image and put the second layer with the filter on overlay mode. I enjoy the drama it gave the image.

Pittsboro, Court House Fire

Last week the Pittsboro Court House caught on fire.
The building was in the process of being restored.
The streets filled with people and there phones, calling people, taking pictures and videos of the event.

For this image I was at least 2 blocks away.

Thank you to the fire department and police officers and everyone that helped.
