Self Portrait

Video style

We were asked in our multimedia class to do a video self portrait of our selves as photographers. There where several ways it could have been done. Some went deeper in to who they are, to give you perspective before you even meet them. I chose to show some of the equipment I enjoy using and the style I go for. Enjoy.

Nikon D90 ISO 800 1/60 @ f/16 52mm
My current project is a multimedia self portrait piece. Part of the video portion involved playing with the balloons, this was a fun image that came from day. Thanks to Maria for being my model.

Glow sticks and Roses

 Nikon D90 ISO 1600 105mm Macro 1:2
First image (10 sec @ f/22)
Second ( .6 sec @ f/22)
I began the day eager to work yet unaware of what was to come of it.
I decided to explore with glowsticks, I broke a blue one open and pored it on to the rose.
I first image is only lit by the glowing liquid.
The second has a bit of a hotlight coming through from the side.

Miami

Nikon D90 18mm ISO- 3200 1/6 @ f/5.6
In December of 2009 I went to Florida, Miami in fact.
I put a highpass filter on it in Photoshop, I then went in to filter-noise-dust and scratches and pulled the water back with a layer mask.
The last filter gave the building on the left and the foreground a blurred look.

Multimedia

A few weeks ago in class we were given a multimedia project. We had a song and certain guidelines to follow. This is my interpretation of Thom Yorkes song Hearing Damage.

Special Thanks to the model Samantha McCaskill and to the people off camera helping me with the lights:Chris, Elizabeth, Maria, and Virginia.

Wild Ponies

Mamyia 6x45 T-Max 100
In the fall of 2009 I ventured out to a state park in Virginia where I heard there would be wild ponies.
My brother brought with us a bag of apples for them.

More Macro

Nikon D90 1/20 @ f/14 105 mm ISO 200

This is a 1:1 photograph of old tea leaves. I liked the depth and the texture. It was back lit on a light table with hot lights coming in on the side to add a warm color.

This is a 1:2 photograph of a necklace of mine. I loved the color! It didnt seem that anything was reflecting within them it was just the light bouncing around and having fun.
